{"id":1358,"date":"2015-11-25T11:26:12","date_gmt":"2015-11-25T10:26:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/excellence-esthetique.fr\/?page_id=1358"},"modified":"2019-06-25T01:29:19","modified_gmt":"2019-06-25T00:29:19","slug":"profiloplasty","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/excellence-esthetique.fr\/en\/profiloplasty\/","title":{"rendered":"Profiloplasty"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>What is a profiloplasty?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>A profiloplasty allows harmonization of facial landmarks.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It can involve medical or surgical procedures on the nose, chin, forehead, and cheekbones.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The nose is typically the center of this remodeling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It can be:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>for the chin:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0bone advancement, chin implant, lipofilling, filler, bone reduction.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>for the forehead<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: an\u00a0augmentation by lipofilling or fillers, a bone remodeling for irregularities or bumps on forehead, a widening of the angle between the nose and forehead.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>for cheekbones:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> an augmentation by lipofilling or fillers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>Why have a profiloplasty?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>The patients who undergo a profiloplasty often come for their nose, which usually seems too big.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But since the first thing we see is the nose is in the middle of the face, some\u00a0too small landmarks\u00a0around the nose can make it seem too big: a chin that is pulled back, a sloping forehead, cheekbones that too flat, all these make the nose appear to be too big.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While it is often necessary to perform a rhinoplasty to soften the perception of the nose, chin, forehead or cheek bone augmentation can balance and magnify the face.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img class=\"alignnone wp-image-1237 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/excellence-esthetique.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/profiloplastie_408-245x244.jpg\" alt=\"profiloplastie_408\" width=\"245\" height=\"244\" srcset=\"https:\/\/excellence-esthetique.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/profiloplastie_408-245x244.jpg 245w, https:\/\/excellence-esthetique.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/profiloplastie_408-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/excellence-esthetique.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/profiloplastie_408-60x60.jpg 60w, https:\/\/excellence-esthetique.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/profiloplastie_408.jpg 408w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 245px) 100vw, 245px\"><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>The \u00a0consultation<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>It takes place in an identical manner to that of a rhinoplasty, which itself includes the consideration of facial features.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Computer simulations are particularly useful to visualize what rebalancing facial proportions will bring.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First, we can sometimes correct the chin, even if it is never an obligation. It is best, to positively rebalance a face, to advance a receding chin,\u00a0augment a chin that is too low, or conversely lower a chin that is too projected or too high located.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In all cases, a rhinoplasty is\u00a0done if the chin is in good position.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It may also be necessary to correct a receding forehead, or a forehead that is too flat, or even sometimes flat cheekbones to give even more depth to the nose.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be aware that in some cases, a good rebalancing of the chin requires prior orthodontic treatment (which lasts between one and two years ...), which explains why some patients prefer less spectacular results (where we do not touch the chin, or a moderate gesture is performed), but also less restrictive!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>What happens during a profiloplasty?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<hr>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many measures are taken to verify the harmony of the modified facial reliefs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each method of increasing or reducing is adapted in a very controlled and gradual way, whether it is the degree of bone advancement of prosthetic remodeling, or the amount of fat or injectable product used.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Profiloplasty, as well as rhinoplasty, is an intervention that is not painful.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An edema persists in the weeks following the operation, as well as moderate and transient changes in sensitivity to the treated area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Returning to work and resuming social activities can be done in the days following the operation, and the end result is acquired in the weeks following the operation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>The risks of profiloplasty<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<hr>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They are\u00a0related to the surgical technique used\u00a0(prostheses, lipofilling, injectables,...).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, certain corrections require small postoperative retouching.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>The scars of profiloplasty<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Depending on the procedure, there may be a small scar under the chin, or sometimes inside of the mouth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When it involves an injection, there are no scars.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>After a profiloplasty<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<hr>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The only notable fact is swelling that more or less noticeable, and bruises, especially in the case of injections.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is frequently a small transient decrease in sensitivity in the treated areas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The end result is appreciated at best around 3 months after surgery.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a
